Japan's Golden Route attracts many visitors each year and for good reason. Rich in culture, incredible food experience and a contrast in the modern and an unwillingness to deviate from the ways of the old, the golden route has a lot to offer to first time visitors. But for those with more time, returning or simply looking for something different, Japan is incredibly rich in alternative destinations.

The scenery, beaches and wildlife in Australia are some of the most stunning and varied in the entire world (although I may be biased). Pair that with a wonderful food and wine culture it really is something special. Growing up in Australia, I was lucky enough to see a large amount of the East Coast during my early 20s, enjoying luxury staycations and weekends exploring. The first thing that struck me on the seaplane transfer as I landed was just how blue and clear the water was. As we landed, the warm welcome made it clear we were somewhere special. This bustling and ancient city situated on the Bosphorous was wonderful in Autumn. Stunning old mosques caught the Autumn light and the weather was still warm enough to sit and enjoy tea outside and walk around catching some sun. Cats play in this charming city, and a walk through the Grand Bazaar is worth it just to marvel at the history alone and the beauty of the painted ceilings. Smaller, quieter local areas charm with little cafes and eateries.

 Although I didn't get a chance to stay on this personal trip, I took a quick walk past the Four Seasons at Sultanahment and I couldn't be more impressed with the location. It backs onto one of the smaller and calmer Bazaar's, just a couple minutes stroll from the Hagia Sophia and Blue mosque. They can arrange private tours of the city and the hotel features a stunning hamman.

Quiet, lush, and effortlessly chic, Nevis is one of the Caribbean’s best-kept secrets. Frame-worthy views of peak-to-sea greenery greet you immediately, setting the stage for an island where life moves at a delightfully unhurried pace. From exploring historic sugar plantations turned boutique hideaways to spending quiet afternoons along pristine beaches, Nevis offers a rare blend of untamed natural beauty and understated luxury.
